Mallory is a second-year law student at UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) with a strong commitment to advancing health equity and reproductive justice through local government. Currently, she serves as a legal extern with the California Department of Justice’s Healthcare Rights and Access Section, contributing to affirmative litigation projects that promote health equity, reproductive justice, and consumer protection. During her 1L summer, Mallory worked with the California DOJ’s Health, Education, and Welfare Section, gaining valuable experience in litigation processes on behalf of state agencies such as the Department of Health Care Services and the Employment Development Department. Before coming to law school, Mallory was an administrative summer intern with a boutique healthcare law firm who worked representing hospitals against insurance companies. This experience made clear the risk of dwindling healthcare access in rural communities and motivates Mallory’s drive to promote accessible care, particularly maternal and reproductive healthcare, in rural communities throughout California. In school, Mallory has most enjoyed her time as a clinical student with the Legal Aid at Work, Workers’ Rights Clinic offering direct legal services on employment law issues to low wage workers across the Bay Area.

Mallory’s passion for local government and public service is rooted in her experience working in parks and recreation services as a high school student in her home town of Collingwood, Ontario, Canada. She completed her undergraduate degree in political science at McGill University in Montreal in 2023. In her free time, she enjoys going on runs, volunteer gardening at Alamo Square Park, and perfecting her chocolate chip cookie recipe.
