Garvey C. Vincent is a rising third year law student at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He was born and raised in Berkeley, California, and has always been passionate about serving the public interest. As an undergraduate at Santa Clara University, Garvey worked on a grassroots local government campaign and participated in an immersion trip to Puebla, Mexico building sustainable schools. His senior year, he took a constitution and inequality class that jumpstarted his pursuit to law school. He is determined to use his law degree to establish effective policies that have a positive impact on the community.
While in law school, Garvey has served as a member of the Hastings Trial team, Acquisitions Editor of the Hastings Environmental Law Journal, President of the Black Law Student Association, and currently serves as Chair of the Hastings student government’s Health and Wellness Committee. Garvey has found law school to be both informative and rewarding. Although it is hard work, he is enjoying his time learning about the law and looks forward to making more connections. He hopes to maintain enthusiasm as the Bar Exam approaches and is excited to earn a law degree and begin practicing public law.
