RPLG Founding Partner Jon Holtzman will present at the 2019 California Public Employees Labor Relations Association (CALPELRA) Advanced Labor Academy on Nov. 18, bringing deep expertise in pension negotiations and pension law.
This year’s annual conference, which provides California public sector labor and employment professionals with key insights and skills-based trainings, runs from Nov. 19-22 in Monterey. In addition, CALPELRA offers two advanced academies at the beginning of the conference week.
Holtzman, who was invited in mid-August to present at the first of these two academies, will run a session entitled “Advanced Academy for Experienced Negotiators: Critical Topics for 2020” alongside CALPELRA CEO Janet Cory Sommer. The full-day training will provide insights and updates for experienced labor relations practitioners on pension issues, new legislation, union access rights and demands, settlement patterns, and impact bargaining.
“I am honored to have been invited to present at the Advanced Labor Academy this year,” said Holtzman. “CALPELRA has an impressive record of helping labor relations professionals improve their practice, and I am looking forward to teaching and learning from my peers at the conference.”
Holtzman has three other CALPELRA speaking engagements later in the week, which will cover comparability analysis, vested retirement benefits and the Brown Act as applied to labor and employment issues. Seven other members from the RPLG team will join him at CALPELRA to present on a variety of labor-related topics, including sexual harassment lawsuits, drug testing policy, and pension litigation.
RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies, nonprofit entities, individuals and private entities in need of effective, responsive and creative legal solutions.
