Litigation Associate

Renne Public Law Group (“RPLG”), recently named a top-20 boutique in California by the Daily Journal, is looking for a litigator with 2-5 years of experience and an eagerness to serve public clients.

In particular, RPLG is looking for someone with:

  • Demonstrated academic success, including good grades, a top law school and/or clerkship
    experience;
  • Experience with many stages of litigation, from complaint through appeal;
  • Experience with thorny legal issues that do not have an obvious answer;
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community, including pro bono work

Experience with employment/labor litigation and/or representing public entities is also a plus.  We understand, however, that a candidate may not have had the chance to work in these areas.  We are willing to train the right candidate in new areas of law.

RPLG takes pride in the fact that half its partners are women.  Even though we are a boutique firm started less than two years ago, two of our attorneys were named Top 100 Women Lawyers of 2019.  Candidates from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Pay is top of the scale for firms serving public clients.  We understand that it is bonus season and are willing to work with the right candidate on a mutually beneficial start date.

About the Firm:

RPLG is committed to public law in the public interest. From counties defending new ordinances to cities fighting the opioid epidemic, public clients turn to RPLG to help with their most complex problems. The firm was founded by Louise Renne, former San Francisco City Attorney and pioneer of affirmative litigation in the public interest.  Its attorneys include a number of former deputy city attorneys who have practiced at the highest levels.  RPLG was founded in 2018 but has already garnered significant praise for its cutting-edge work.  Just recently, it was named a “Top Boutique” in California by the Daily Journal –the most prestigious award for small firms in the state.  If you are excited about continuing to tackle clients’ toughest issues, but also want to advance the public interest, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants should submit a cover letter describing their education, career goals, and relevant experience, along with their resume, and a writing sample to  resumes@publiclawgroup.com.
