We are Renne Public Law Group (RPLG), recently named by the Daily Journal as one of the Top 20 Boutique Law Firms in California. Two of our partners are Daily Journal Top 100 Women Lawyers in California, and other partners are California Super Lawyers.
RPLG seeks an associate with 2-7 years of municipal law advisory experience to provide advice to local governments statewide on a wide range of general municipal law matters. Strong writing and analytical skills, and a passion for public agency law are musts.
Experience with the Brown Act, Political Reform Act and Public Records Act is preferred.
Experience working “in-house” with a public agency is a significant plus.
RPLG was founded by Louise Renne, former San Francisco City Attorney, a pioneer of affirmative litigation in the public interest.
RPLG attorneys have decades of experience representing public agencies in California. Public law in the public interest is vital as many of our cases involve complex and novel legal issues.
We provide ongoing and interim city attorney and general counsel services for local governments seeking to have those services provided by a law firm. For those public agencies with in-house legal counsel, we offer specialized legal services as needed on discrete government law matters, including constitutional, ethics, conflicts, elections, land use and other difficult issues that arise from time to time. We frequently provide in-house city attorneys, county counsel and general counsel with independent legal analyses and risk assessments of complex constitutional or statutory questions.
