Bruce GoodmillerSupporting excellence in the public law profession, Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) is sponsoring a reception to honor Bruce Reed Goodmiller, City Attorney for the City of Richmond, during the California Lawyers Association Annual Meeting, September 14 and 15 in San Diego. The California State Bar has named Goodmiller the 2018 Ronald M. George Public Lawyer of the Year in recognition of his legal acumen and public service.

“Bruce is a dedicated civil servant who has demonstrated a commitment to public service throughout his career,” says RPLG Partner Louise Renne. “He serves as an advocate for the City of Richmond while maintaining the highest ethical and professional standards. He is also a very kind and caring person.”

Goodmiller has served the City of Richmond since 2009, first as a Senior Assistant City Attorney and then as City Attorney. In his current role, he has guided the City through the settlements of major litigation regarding the use of land at Point Molate and a refinery fire. He also advised the City regarding permitting for a major refinery modernization project, which resulted in a Community Investment Agreement with Chevron Corporation that yielded a complex package of community benefits. Goodmiller previously was Assistant City Attorney for the City of Vallejo.

The reception honoring Goodmiller will take place on September 14 in San Diego. Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye will present his award.
