Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) is pleased to announce that Karen Carrera has joined the firm as Of Counsel and Head of the Investigations section. With over 25 years of experience in employment law and workplace investigations, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge to RPLG’s growing practice, particularly for public entities, nonprofits and Spanish-speaking clients. Her extensive background includes serving in the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office and running her own successful investigations practice, Carrera Workplace Solutions.

“We are thrilled to have Karen on board at RPLG,” said founding partner Jon Holtzman. “We look forward to her making a meaningful impact with her valuable expertise and commitment to serving diverse communities.”

Karen will lead RPLG’s investigations team, overseeing workplace investigations, providing training on harassment and discrimination prevention and offering advice and counsel to clients. She will also assist in expanding RPLG’s Spanish-speaking client base.

“Joining RPLG feels like coming full circle,” said Karen. “I’m excited to work together with former colleagues from the City Attorney’s Office and to contribute to the firm’s mission of serving public entities and nonprofits. This role allows me to combine my passion for employment law with the opportunity to make a real difference in how organizations address workplace issues.”

Karen’s expertise includes handling complex employment matters, wage and hour class actions and discrimination cases. She will continue to apply her thorough and impartial approach to investigations and ability to navigate sensitive workplace issues.

Karen graduated cum laude with a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University and earned her J.D. from the University of California, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings).
