Graduated magna cum laude from Yale University with departmental honors in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry. Received medical degree from UCSF and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Pediatric internship, residency, and chief residency at Children’s Hospital Oakland. Earned MPH from Rollins School of Public Health, Emory University (elected to the Delta Omega student honorary society). Board-certified pediatrician and have worked in a variety of settings: small private practice; chaired the pediatric department in a large multi-specialty practice; and provided early intervention services for children at risk of developmental problems. Worked in public health for past 18 years serving as a local public health officer. Had the privilege of serving as president of the California Conference of Local Health Officers and president of the Health Officers Association of California. Currently, a contract physician with California Department of Public Health working as a liaison to local health departments for COVID-19 response.
