ABOUT SARAH PASTRAN
Ms. Pastran is a member of the Litigation and Labor and Employment practice groups. She brings her expertise in both the private and public sector to the firm as Senior Counsel.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Pastran was a Legal Research Attorney at the Alameda Superior Court. As a Legal Research Attorney, she worked closely with Judges in the civil direct calendaring departments on law and motion matter in a wide variety of practices areas. Ms. Pastran drafted tentative rulings, orders, statements of decision, and judgments while working closely with assigned Judges. Additionally, on a daily basis, she researched a wide range of legal issues to ensure that the judges reached sound judicial decisions. Ms. Pastran also prepared comprehensive memoranda detailing relevant legal issues, addressing the various arguments’ strengths and weaknesses, and recommended judicial action. Her experience with the Superior Court also involved significant research related to public entities, including the review of writs and appeals for administrative matters.
Before working at the Alameda Superior Court, Ms. Pastran practiced for eleven years as a litigation attorney in private practice at various law firms. Ms. Pastran has extensive experience litigating in a variety of areas of law including construction, lender liability, and employment law. Additionally, she also advised clients and assisted with the formation of various business entities, negotiated business contracts, assisted clients with the requirements for setting up or maintaining small businesses, including debt collection, compliance with federal and state employment laws, copyright, and trademark registration. Prior to becoming a litigator, Ms. Pastran clerked for Chief Justice Richard Bosson of the New Mexico Supreme Court.
