2026 Public Law Fellowship

Renne Public Law Group is pleased to announce its
seventh annual Public Law Fellowship Program

A two-week remote program designed to provide law and public affairs students with a comprehensive introduction to the practice of local government law and policy.

About the Program

The Public Law Fellowship offers students a unique opportunity to engage with prominent figures in local government, including mayors, councilmembers and public sector attorneys. Through interactive discussions, Fellows will explore complex legal and policy issues, which have included the lack of affordable housing and the unhoused, police reform, election integrity, public labor and employment law, local responses to climate change and affirmative litigation.

Fellows will be paired with an RPLG attorney as a mentor to complete a research project related to local government law. Past projects have included: analyzing the impact of limiting police use of pretextual stops to reduce racial profiling, assessing wildfire mitigation policies in Los Angeles, evaluating the Army’s Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Program and investigating the role of public health in addressing community segregation and disparities.
