David White, Deputy City Manager, City of Berkeley
David White is currently the Deputy City Manager at the City of Berkeley. He oversees the administrative departments in the City, along with the Office of Economic Development and Police Review Commission. David played a critical role in the negotiations that resulted in Measure II, a Charter Amendment that was adopted in November 2020, which modernized and strengthened civilian oversight of the Berkeley Police Department. In addition to overseeing implementation efforts, David oversees and manages a collaborative, multi-faceted initiative to reimagine public safety. This includes a 17-member community Task Force, deep community engagement, as well as an interdepartmental and consultant team. Prior to joining Berkeley, David served the City of Fairfield for almost 15 years, in which he was the City Manager for almost five years.
