RPLG Partner Jon Holtzman and RPPG Managing Director of Government Affairs Dane Hutchings will speak on panels at the League of California Cities’ Annual Conference this year. 

On October 7 from 2:30-3:45 p.m., Jon will moderate a panel on wildfire preparation and response with panelists Charlie Crocker, Founder and CEO of Zonehaven; Tim Woodbury, Director of State and Local Government Affairs at Splunk; and Dave Winnacker, Fire Chief of the Moraga-Orinda Fire District. The session, titled “Using Big Data to Reduce Catastrophic Impacts of Wildfire,” will discuss the development of comprehensive mitigation plans.

 “Wildfires pose unique, critical threats to California public agencies,” said Jon.  “I look forward to being on this panel, which will share super innovative approaches to this issue.”  

Dane will share his knowledge and expertise on pension issues in “Rates, Policies and Reforms… How COVID-19 Will Impact CalPERS Employers,” along with Jasmine Nachtigall-Fournier, the president and co-founder of GovInvest Inc. Sacramento Deputy City Manager Leyne Milstein will moderate the panel, which is slotted for 1:00-2:15 p.m. on October 7.

 The League’s Annual Conference, which provides a space for California city officials to learn from each other’s experiences and policy decisions, will take place virtually this year from October 7-9, 2020.  The conference will offer networking opportunities, interactive speaker panels, discussion forums and keynote speakers.
