Renne Public Management Group (RPMG), a division of Renne Public Law Group (RPLG), is pleased to announce that Nelson Fialho has joined as Executive Director of RPMG effective February 1. Nelson will lead RPMG’s Financial Management, Human Resources, Executive Search and Complex Project Management practice areas.

A graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government Program, Nelson has deep roots in local government and a passion for public service. Prior to joining RPMG, Nelson served the Cities of Pleasanton, Campbell, San Dimas and Hayward in various leadership and management capacities, retiring as Pleasanton’s city manager after 25 years with the City.  During his tenure, the City was the recipient of four Helen Putnam Awards from the League of California Cities for excellence in financial management, public safety, youth in government and land use planning and numerous other awards and recognitions from state and national organizations.

“As Executive Director of RPMG, I look forward to helping our public sector clients navigate the modern and complex challenges of local government,” said Nelson. “Many issues facing our municipalities today are intersectional, requiring collaborative teams of attorneys, public policy experts and management consultants to provide holistic and creative solutions.”

Cities and counties, special districts and non-profits can take advantage of RPMG’s expertise as consultants on executive searches, strategic planning, executive onboarding, performance evaluation, conflict resolution and facilitation, fiscal and operational analysis, complex project management, negotiations and organizational assessments.

“We are delighted that Nelson has agreed to join us,” noted RPLG Founding Partner Jon Holtzman. “So many of the problems we see are not legal issues but operational challenges. RPLG was founded to provide end-to-end solutions for public agencies. Nelson’s work for RPMG complements the work of both our legal and public policy divisions in providing practical and effective solutions for local government.”
