Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) Partner Amy Ackerman participated in the Auxiliary Organizations Association’s (AOA) 2025 Annual Conference, where she presented on “Public Records Request for California State University (CSU) Auxiliaries” on January 13 in San Diego.

The conference, titled “Charting New Frontiers Through Radical Innovation,” aimed to inspire attendees to adopt innovative strategies that enhance the role of CSU auxiliary organizations in promoting student success and operational excellence.

As public records requests continue to rise, CSU auxiliaries face the challenge of determining which records must be released and which are exempt. Amy’s session covered the Richard McKee Act, legal responsibilities, common exceptions to disclose and best practices for managing requests. For more insights into the AOA and their annual conference, visit their conference website.
