Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) is pleased to welcome Zoe Tatarsky as our newest associate. Zoe brings a strong blend of legal expertise, public service experience and a commitment to advancing equitable communities.

Referred by both mentors and judges, Zoe was drawn to RPLG by her interest in litigating on behalf of public entities and in the public interest, as well as the firm’s great reputation: “I am excited to be at a firm with such strong, small-world connections.” She also values RPLG’s investment in associates through engaging casework and its fellowship program.

Zoe joins RPLG from the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, where she served as a legal research attorney. In that role, she briefed judges on opposed motions, synthesized arguments, distilled procedural histories and recommended tentative orders. Her experience includes motions for summary judgment, demurrers, motions to strike, anti-strategic lawsuits against public participation and motions to compel arbitration.

“Clerking for the trial court attuned me to forms and styles of argument that judges find persuasive,” said Zoe. “I have also handled employment cases and cases against the City and County of San Francisco, which has made me familiar with the type of work that RPLG does.”

Previously, Zoe worked as a civil litigation paralegal at San Francisco-based Open Door Legal, supporting cases that advanced economic and social justice. She also gained international experience in community-based education and leadership development through roles with Global Glimpse in the Dominican Republic and Amigos de las Américas.

“Zoe is a strong researcher and writer whose comfort with civil procedure and pre-trial motions will help her confidently navigate litigation on behalf of RPLG’s clients,” said Founding Partner Jon Holzman. “We are excited for her to contribute her skills and perspective as we continue to serve public agencies throughout California.”

Zoe earned her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), magna cum laude, with CALI awards in torts, property, civil procedure and advanced legal research. She distinguished herself in the 2022 Kaufman Memorial Securities Law Moot Court Competition, winning best brief and advancing as a finalist. Alongside Professor Chimène Keitner, she co-authored three articles for Just Security on Ukraine’s request for provisional measures against the Russian Federation before the International Court of Justice. She holds a B.A. in psychology from Kenyon College, summa cum laude, and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies and nonprofits, providing forward-thinking, responsive and creative legal solutions.
