Dan Carrigg

ABOUT
Dan Carrigg is a Senior Policy Advisor with Renne Public Policy Group (RPPG), a division of Renne Public Law Group. Mr. Carrigg is a political consultant with extensive experience in legislative analysis, policy development, strategy and advocacy on a wide range of issues affecting local government agencies in California. After over 30 years in Sacramento, Mr. Carrigg is an expert on the issues impacting local government and experienced at crafting practical public policy that advances the interest of public agencies.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Mr. Carrigg joins Renne Public Policy Group from the League of California Cities, where he oversaw the organization’s lobbying and policy development activities for many years as Deputy Executive Director/Legislative Director. In this role, he supervised the League’s legislative and public affairs program, developed policy, managed the League’s legislative and public affairs teams, drafted and reviewed legislation, reviewed and analyzed ballot measures and testified in the Legislature. Mr. Carrigg authored numerous articles in Western City magazine, including annual comprehensive political summaries of legislative sessions. During his 21-year career with the League, Mr. Carrigg also represented the organization on housing and land use, budget, revenue and taxation, and economic development.
Prior to his work with the League, Mr. Carrigg drew on his background in construction to represent the Department of General Services and the Division of the State Architect from 1996-1998. He served as a senior consultant for the California State Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee from 1991-1996. His career began with a fellowship on the Assembly Desk during the term of former Assembly Speaker Willie Brown.
Mr. Carrigg currently serves as a consultant with the California Association for Local Economic Development (CALED) providing strategic advice and legislative research.
