Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) Associates Michael Cohen and Jake Freitas will present at the California Special Districts Association (CSDA) Annual Conference this August in Palm Desert.
This year’s CSDA Conference, August 22-25, will provide an opportunity for attendees to gather and learn from informative, educational presentations.
Jake will teach conference attendees about how to develop workplace violence policies to mitigate and manage risk in “Violence in the Workplace — Mitigating Risk and Proactively Responding to Threats” on August 23 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This session will address how special districts can develop policies and procedures to not only prevent workplace violence from occurring but also respond promptly to threats that do arise.
Later in the day, from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m, Michael will present “Boards Behaving Badly: How to Stay Out of Trouble”. This session will explain how trust and loyalty inform board members’ obligations to their district and constituents. Using real-life examples, the session will cover the topics board members need to understand to avoid allegations of misconduct.
“We are honored to have been selected to present at this year’s CSDA Conference,” Michael said. “RPLG remains invested in serving public agencies; we believe our presentations will help fellow leaders learn more about solving and avoiding workplace and other governance issues.”
RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies, nonprofit entities, individuals and private entities in need of effective, responsive and creative legal solutions.
