Jake Freitas
Senior Associate
ABOUT
Jake Freitas is a senior associate in Renne Public Law Group’s Litigation and Government practice groups. An alumnus of the firm’s Public Law Fellowship program, Jake joined the firm in October 2021.
Jake represents public agency clients in a wide range of matters before state and federal courts, as well as administrative tribunals. He also has experience handling appeals and petitions for writs of mandate before the California Court of Appeal. His practice spans diverse areas, including the Fair Employment and Housing Act, workplace violence restraining orders, zoning and land use and constitutional and statutory interpretation.
Jake has represented the firm at the League of California Cities City Attorneys Spring Conference and the League of California Cities City Managers Conference.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (formerly UC Hastings). While in law school, he served as managing editor of the Hastings Journal of Crime and Punishment and chair of the Community Advocacy Committee. He also interned at the Northern District of California and with the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office, where he worked with the government team advising city departments and local officials.
