To help local government leaders better understand the multidisciplinary approach of wildfire risk reduction, Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) and Renne Public Management Group (RPMG) have partnered with the Institute for Local Government to host a webinar series, “Reducing Your Community’s Wildfire Risk.” The four-part series, led by RPLG Founding Partner Jon Holtzman and RPMG Consultant Dave Winnacker, will provide information and answer questions to help agencies better protect their communities against wildfires.

“ILG’s mission is to deliver real-world expertise to help California local leaders navigate complex issues. The series will kick off at 11 a.m. on September 9, with “Building Fire-Adapted Communities: A Roadmap for California Leaders.” During the session, Jon and Dave will describe the five contributing factors to large-scale fire loss and identify frameworks for better protecting communities from wildfires.

“California communities are facing unprecedented wildfire risks,” said Dave. “Through this series, we’ll provide local leaders with the tools and strategies, informed by our Advanced Wildfire Risk Reduction practice, to help reduce risk and build more resilient communities.”

The remaining webinars of this series — scheduled for October 1, November 13 and January 26, 2026 — will dig deeper into actionable, proactive solutions for communities of any size to reduce their wildfire risk.
