ABOUT ANN DANFORTH
Ann Danforth brings more than 40 years of experience to her local government clients. Her primary focus has been on land use and CEQA matters, providing critical advice on housing element updates, SB 9 and SUD projects, the Housing Accountability Act and similar legislative mandates. In the fast-changing world of California housing law, Ms. Danforth prides herself on problem-solving and proactive measures to protect her clients. Ms. Danforth has also worked extensively on public works projects, consultant and other contracts, government claims, personnel matters, Public Records Act and Brown Act issues and has also represented cities in writ procedures at both the trial and appellate level.
Ms. Danforth currently serves as special counsel for the Town of Corte Madera on land use matters and for Sanitary District No. 2. She is a regular speaker on CEQA and land use.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Ms. Danforth served as Town Attorney for the Town of Tiburon from 1996 to 2015. After that time, Ms. Danforth served as General Counsel for the Kensington Police Protection and Community Services District, assistant city attorney for the City of Belvedere, a public hearing officer for the City of Fremont, special counsel to the City of Sonoma and contract counsel for the City of Berkeley.
Before serving as Tiburon’s Town Attorney, Ms. Danforth was an associate attorney in the Land Use and Local Government Group of McCutchen, Doyle Brown and Enersen and a Deputy City Attorney for the City of San Jose.
