ABOUT
Glen Hansen has provided high-quality legal advice to public agencies, private developers and property owners for more than 30 years. Glen is a practical and effective litigator with extensive experience in land use, environmental and real property law, guiding clients through high-stakes regulatory disputes, entitlement processes and constitutional takings claims throughout California. His practice focuses on advising public agencies on the full range of land use and environmental issues, including zoning, development approvals, regulatory enforcement and public works disputes. He has extensive experience in litigation and counseling under many state and federal statutes. Having represented both public and private sector clients, Glen brings a well-rounded perspective that allows him to anticipate challenges and develop pragmatic legal strategies.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Prior to joining Renne Public Law Group, Glen served for more than 18 years as senior counsel at Abbott & Kindermann Inc. During his tenure there, he litigated and advised on land use, real estate and local government matters across California. He successfully defended several multimillion-dollar inverse condemnation actions and litigated cases involving the California Environmental Quality Act, Subdivision Map Act and Mitigation Fee Act. Earlier in his career, Glen spent 10 years with Knox, Lemmon & Anapolsky, LLP, where he represented the California Secretary of State, the California District Attorneys Association and various trade associations and property owners in administrative proceedings and civil litigation. He also served as an attorney for Freeman, Brown, Sperry & D’Aiuto, LLP, representing local governments and developers in land use disputes, eminent domain, environmental compliance and commercial transactions.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPEREINCE
Throughout his career, Glen has been responsible for:
- Providing legal counsel to local governments and businesses regarding land use planning, environmental compliance and statutory interpretation.
- Defending public agencies in complex litigation involving the California Environmental Quality Act, Subdivision Map Act and Mitigation Fee Act and constitutional takings.
- Representing the California Secretary of State and other public entities in election law disputes and administrative rulemaking proceedings.
- Advising on the drafting and enforcement of real estate contracts, easements and commercial transactions.
Representing property owners in disputes involving business operations subject to local regulation and eminent domain proceedings.
