ABOUT
Associate KC Shah focuses his practice on complex civil litigation, appellate matters and public law. Drawing on substantial judicial clerkship experience at the trial and appellate levels, KC brings strong legal research, writing and analytical skills to high-stakes matters involving statutory interpretation, constitutional law and public entity liability.
KC previously served as a chambers law clerk to Associate Justice Martin Jenkins at the Supreme Court of California, where he evaluated petitions for review and drafted opinion recommendations across complex civil, criminal, statutory and constitutional disputes. KC also served as a legal research attorney for the Law and Motion division of the San Francisco Superior Court, where he analyzed complex record materials and drafted over 100 judicial orders on preliminary injunctions, summary judgment motions, demurrers and administrative writs.
Earlier in his career, KC served as a David B. Bryson Memorial fellow at the National Housing Law Project, drafted dispositive motions for the California Department of Justice’s Government Law Section and handled housing policy litigation. He actively serves the public interest as a mayor-appointed commissioner on the San Francisco Residential Rent Stabilization and Arbitration Board and as a California State Bar appointed commissioner to the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Evaluated complex statutory, constitutional and civil questions and prepared draft opinions as a chambers law clerk at the Supreme Court of California.
- Drafted over 100 judicial orders on summary judgment motions, preliminary injunctions, demurrers and discovery matters in the San Francisco Superior Court Law and Motion department.
