Patty Kong

About
Patty Kong, a consultant with Renne Public Management Group (RPMG), brings more than 30 years of experience in local government finance and management. She specializes in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and accounting, as well as guiding agencies through the request-for-proposal process and strengthening financial controls.
Before joining RPMG, Patty served as the finance and administrative services director and city auditor for the City of Mountain View, where she successfully guided the city through three major economic downturns, including the Great Recession, while maintaining balanced budgets and long-term fiscal sustainability. She also oversaw the dissolution of the city’s redevelopment agency and helped establish the initial banking relationship for Silicon Valley Clean Energy, a 12-agency joint community choice aggregation program.
Earlier in her career, Patty was a manager at KPMG, a global network of independent professional services firms, where she provided audit services for local governments. Through her work in both public service and consulting, she has built a reputation as a hands-on leader, collaborator and mentor to new finance professionals.
Patty, a certified public accountant, holds a B.S. with honors in business administration with a concentration in accounting from San José State University.
