Cary Zuk

ABOUT
Cary Zuk is a senior associate in the firm’s litigation practice, bringing more than two decades of experience in public sector employment law and administrative litigation. She is skilled at handling complex legal issues and is committed to advancing public interest through her work.
Prior to joining Renne Public Law Group, Cary served as senior litigation counsel at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in San Francisco. In this role, she represented the agency in proceedings before the Merit Systems Protection Board (MSPB) and the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Commission, supported Assistant United States Attorneys in federal EEO litigation and advised management on matters involving employee misconduct, performance and discrimination. She successfully negotiated numerous settlements in employee appeals and employment discrimination and served as trial counsel in twelve matters before the MSPB, five before the EEOC and four before arbitrators.
Earlier in her career, Cary was a senior associate attorney at Thatcher Zavaro & Mani, where she represented employees in cases involving employment discrimination and retaliation under county, state and federal civil rights laws. She handled matters in both federal and state court, before administrative agencies, and in arbitration before the American Arbitration Association. She also served as a General Attorney in the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission, contributing to the investigation and litigation of complex antitrust matters.
Cary earned her J.D. from the University of California College of the Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where she was Editor-in-Chief of the Hastings Women’s Law Journal and received the Hastings 1066 Foundation Scholarly Journal Prize. She is fluent in Spanish and continues to serve the community as a Pro Bono Attorney for the Alliance for Children’s Rights, representing parents in foster care adoption finalization hearings.
