ABOUT MICHAEL ZITANI
Michael Zitani is a Senior Associate in the Firm’s Government, Labor & Employment, and Litigation Groups. He represents public entities in administrative proceedings and litigation in California state and federal court from the pre-claim stage through alternative dispute resolution, administrative tribunal, and/or trial. His areas of expertise include employment discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and labor law.
Prior to joining Renne Public Law Group, Michael was an associate in two different law firms defending public entities in state and federal court against claims pursuant to the Fair Employment and Housing Act, inverse condemnation, personal injury, and constitutional claims. Michael draws advisory and litigation experience from his time as a law fellow for the Berkeley City Attorney’s Office. He also draws additional litigation expertise from working as a nonprofit staff attorney defending low income, senior, and disabled San Francisco tenants against no-fault evictions.
During law school, Michael represented indigent clients in administrative appeals of their social services claims in the Individual Representation Clinic at the University of California Law San Francisco. He also worked as an editor of the UC Law Business Journal, and helped his peers achieve academic success working as a Teaching Assistant for the school’s Academic Support Program.
