ABOUT
Taylor Cole is an associate at Renne Public Law Group, where she draws on her combined background in law and public policy to advise government and nonprofit clients. She earned her JD-MPP through a dual-degree program with the University of North Carolina School of Law and the Duke University Sanford School of Public Policy, equipping her with a unique perspective on the intersection of legal and policy issues.
During law school, Taylor gained practical experience through internships with the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the legal department at the American Lebanese Syrian Associated Charities, the nonprofit organization that runs St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She also served as vice president of the Women in Law student group, competed on the Holderness Moot Court Team and graduated with Pro Bono honors for completing more than 100 hours of service.
As part of her master’s program, Taylor researched student-athlete use of name, image and likeness with Duke University’s athletics department and consulted with the Southern Coalition for Social Justice on voter registration list maintenance. She also served on the board of Hemophilia of North Carolina through the Sanford Board Leadership Initiative.
Her academic research on voter suppression following Shelby County v. Holder provided an early foundation for her focus on electoral policy and the legal system’s role in shaping voting rights.
