Bringing the unique skills of an experienced attorney and a dedicated public servant, Lori Liu has joined the Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) as the firm’s newest Senior Litigation Associate.
Ms. Liu has been a litigator for more than a decade; her experience includes working at Buchalter Nemer and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. She has represented private sector clients in federal and state courts in a broad variety of commercial and real estate litigation matters.
In addition to her successful legal career, Ms. Liu served for four years on the Brisbane City Council. She was elected in 2013, served as Mayor Pro Tempore in 2015-2016 and as Mayor in 2016-2017. During her term as Mayor, she led the Council’s decision-making regarding the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Baylands Development and contributed to the adoption of the City’s first ever Precise Plan for Parkside at Brisbane Village.
“I’m thrilled to join the RPLG team and combine my skills as an experienced litigator and former local elected Mayor and Councilmember,” said Ms. Liu. “RPLG shares my passion for serving local communities through the practice of law. RPLG’s core values of courage, passion, leadership and public law in the public interest deeply resonate with my interest in serving the public. I look forward to working with my new colleagues as we empower policy makers throughout California to bring solution-oriented approaches to a wide range of issues, and ultimately help communities thrive.”
“Lori is a one of a kind. She has extensive litigation experience and served as an elected official and policymaker. RPLG clients will benefit from her experience in both of these realms,” said RPLG Managing Partner Teresa Stricker.
RPLG practices throughout California, advising and advocating for public agencies, nonprofit entities, individuals and private entities in need of effective, responsive and creative legal solutions.
