Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) congratulates Rubin E. Cruse, Jr. and Andrew Shen on their promotions to partner effective Sept. 1. Rubin joined RPLG as of counsel in May 2023 after serving over 24 years in the Shasta County Counsel’s Office and over 12 years as the Shasta County Counsel. Andrew joined RPLG as senior counsel in October 2022 after 15 years of service as deputy city attorney for the City and County of San Francisco.

She holds a B.A. from the University of California, Davis and a J.D. cum laude from the University of San Francisco (USF) School of Law. During her time at law school, Maribel served as a judicial extern for California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, was a senior staff member of the USF Law Review and was co-president of the USF La Raza Law Student Association.

A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Texas School of Law, Davis is an experienced commercial and labor and employment trial lawyer who has handled disputes related to the Fair Labor Standards Act, theft of trade secrets and class action defense.

Mauricio joins the RPLG team from the Superior Court of California - County of San Francisco, where he was a court staff attorney. He holds a bachelor of arts degree in political science from Stanford University and a juris doctor degree from University of California College of the Law, San Francisco.
Renne Public Law Group (RPLG) congratulations Steve Cikes on his promotion to partner as of January 1. Steve, who joined the firm in 2019, previously worked with Founding Partners Louise Renne and Jon Holtzman—who he credits as having been his mentors throughout his career—at Renne Sloan Holtzman Sakai from 2005 to 2018. At RPLG, he primarily represents and advises public agencies on labor, employment and government law matters. He also represents the firm’s clients in affirmative, public interest litigation.

Renne Public Management Group (RPMG), a division of Renne Public Law Group (RPLG), is excited to announce the addition of June Catalano as its newest consultant. June recently retired from the City of Pleasant Hill after 17 years as city manager. Prior to that, she was city manager of the City of Martinez for five years. She has served as community development director in a wide range of cities, from Santa Ana to Laguna Beach to San Leandro.
